In our school you will find a happy, safe and loving environment. You’ll discover a clean, well-equipped, spacious building and highly professional and committed staff. You’ll see our structured programme of activities delivering the perfect mix of care and learning. But above all, you’ll find happy children, having fun and being stimulated and challenged at the same time.

Staying safe
Children need to feel safe and secure both in their surroundings and with the people who care for them. At BPA the care and safety of your child is paramount. Our staff are carefully selected and vetted to ensure their suitability. Qualifications, experience and attitude are just as important as the ability to win the confidence of young children. Continuous training and professional development programmes ensure our staffs go on developing their knowledge and skills and keep up with current teaching developments.

We have adequate staffing level to provide close supervision at all times, and a School Nurse is always at hand. We also create and maintain a safe environment within our school: all our equipment conforms to EU standards for use by children. The personal, social and emotional development of your child is the foundation for their physical and mental growth – and being safe in their environment is key to this.

Enjoying and achieving
Children need to feel loved so that they are able to develop. Because your child is assigned to a specific member of staff, you know there is always someone with whom you can discuss any aspect of your child’s care and development. Giving your children plenty of support, care and encouragement is an integral part of the role of these key workers.
The care your child receives throughout the day will promote feelings of being loved- not just during play times but at meal times and sleep periods (for the younger children). We will get to know your children, their likes and dislikes, as we play and work with them.

Making a positive contribution
Children have active minds and bodies and the most important time in their learning is the first few years. Exciting opportunities that encourage children to develop their language, concepts and skills are crucial. BPA offers planned programmes of activities which are available for the parents to view at any time.

Fostering positive relationships
One of the main reasons parents choose to send their children to school is to allow them to mix and socialise. Sharing toys and equipment is part of the programme. Saying “please” and “thank you” and respecting others is fostered through play and carefully reinforced by our staff. Taking turns and sharing is integrated into meals and snacks times, as well as indoor and outdoor activities. All children are encouraged to develop their social skills in a caring environment.

Stimulated learning
We provide appropriate toys and equipment to allow children to make choices and we train our staff in presentational skills so that rooms are laid out in a stimulating way. Making children feel valued and enhancing their self-esteem fosters their ability to be independent. Taking time to reinforce skills regularly, so that every child responds at their own pace, consolidates learning. When the time arrives for toilet training, we take our lead from you using positive reinforcement to guide your child through this important stage. Children learn to be independent by experiencing environments which allow them to make choices.
